Adding Kerabie to your WordPress site takes about 5 minutes and requires no coding. Here's how.

Step 1: Install the plugin

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New
  2. Search for "Kerabie Live Chat"
  3. Click Install Now then Activate

Step 2: Configure your Widget Key

  1. In the WordPress admin sidebar, click Kerabie
  2. In the Widget Key field, paste your key from Kerabie dashboard → Settings → Widget → Install Code
  3. Click Save Settings

The chat bubble appears immediately on your site.

Step 3: Optional configuration

In the Kerabie plugin settings:

  • Enable on all pages — on by default. Disable to restrict to specific pages.
  • Pass WordPress user data — when enabled, logged-in users' name and email are sent to Kerabie automatically. Agents see who they're talking to before the first message.
  • Hide for admins — prevents the widget appearing in your admin dashboard.

Method 2: Manual script installation

If you prefer not to use a plugin:

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance → Theme Editor or use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers"
  2. Paste this before the closing </body> tag:
<script>
  window.KerAbieSettings = { widgetKey: "wk_yourkey_here" };
</script>
<script src="https://cdn.kerabie.com/widget.js" async></script>
  1. Save

Method 3: Via a caching plugin (WP Rocket, W3TC)

If you use a caching plugin, add cdn.kerabie.com to the script exclusion list to prevent the widget script from being cached or deferred incorrectly.

Verifying the installation

Visit your site in an incognito window. The chat bubble should appear in the bottom-right corner (or wherever you configured it in Kerabie → Settings → Chat Widget → Position).

Troubleshooting

Widget not appearing:

  • Check the Widget Key is correct (starts with wk_)
  • Check if a caching plugin is blocking the script
  • Clear your browser cache and try incognito

Widget appears but can't send messages:

  • Check your Kerabie subscription is active
  • Check if your domain is whitelisted in Kerabie → Settings → Widget
