Push Notifications
Configure browser push notifications for agents.
Browser push notifications alert agents to new conversations and messages even when they're not looking at the Kerabie tab.
Enabling push notifications
- Log in to kerabie.com/app
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Push
- Click Enable browser notifications
- Allow the browser permission prompt
You'll start receiving notifications immediately for any of the events you have toggled on.
What triggers a push notification
| Event | Default |
|---|---|
| New conversation assigned to you | On |
| New message in your assigned conversation | On |
| New unassigned conversation | Off |
| Conversation reopened | On |
| Mention in internal note | On |
Toggle each event individually under Settings → Notifications.
Browser support
Push notifications work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari 16.1+. They require HTTPS and a granted permission; browsers won't prompt twice if you denied the first time. To re-enable:
- Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar → Notifications → Allow
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Notifications → Allow for kerabie.com
- Safari: System Preferences → Notifications → Safari → Allow
Not receiving notifications?
- Check your OS-level notification settings (macOS / Windows); the browser must be allowed there too
- Make sure your status is set to Available in the agent status indicator
- Ensure the Kerabie tab has been open at least once in the current browser session to register the service worker
