Proactive Messages
Trigger a message when a visitor spends time on a specific page.
A proactive message is an automated chat message that appears to a visitor based on the page they're on and how long they've been there. It starts the conversation before they have to ask.
Creating a proactive message
- Go to Campaigns → New campaign → Proactive message
- Set the trigger conditions:
- Page URL: exact match, contains, or starts with
- Time on page: e.g. after 30 seconds
- Visit count: e.g. only on first visit, or after 3+ visits
- Write the message (supports template variables)
- Set frequency: show once per session, once per day, or always
- Choose whether to show in widget or as a full banner
- Click Activate

Pausing and stopping
Toggle a campaign off from the Campaigns list at any time. Pausing stops new messages immediately; it doesn't affect conversations already started.
